W.E. Lillo Debate Tournament

Friday, Nov. 5 - Saturday, Nov. 6
Concordia College campus

The 67th annual W.E. Lillo Invitational Debate Tournament welcomes high school teams from across the upper Midwest for a quality debate competition. Our team and coaches hope your experience here will be both enjoyable and educational.

We will be hosting divisions in policy debate and public forum, but please let us know if you’re also interested in Lincoln-Douglas. We need written interest from at least four schools to make viable fields in both public forum and Lincoln-Douglas.

Trophies will be awarded to all debaters qualifying for elimination rounds. If there are divisions where elimination rounds are not held, awards will be presented to the top six finishers. Outstanding speakers in policy debate will also be recognized. The top three sweepstakes schools will receive school trophies, as well as coaches’ awards.

In an effort to encourage participation in forensics and to reward a job well done, we are pleased to offer two Concordia College scholarship packages. Two high school senior competitors will win $10,000 scholarships. Lillo tournament performance will be used, in addition to other criteria, to select the winners. If you are not selected for one of those scholarships, we encourage you to apply for one of Concordia’s Speech and Debate Scholarships.
