When & How to Complete an I-9
Concordia has established the practice that the I-9 form must be fully completed, prior to an employee beginning work. The dates listed in this tutorial are based on the regulations.
The I-9 Form must be completed and verified by a designated Concordia College employee. A new employee must either come to the College office to complete the I-9 or a current College employee must go to the new employee. An exception would be if the College has made arrangements with a notary or other approved official to handle new employee paperwork.
The I-9 Form contains three separate and distinct sections:
Section 1: Employee Information and Verification
Section 2: Employer Review and Verification
Section 3: Updating and Re-verification
