*The division of the Language Villages recognizes Labor Day, instead of Independence Day as a holiday. Holiday pay and time off will coincide with the alternate Language Village's schedule.
Employees who qualify for the benefit and work the observed day will be eligible to take the day off at another time. If you are required to work on the actual holiday, you will receive time-and-one-half compensation for that day's work.
Actual Holidays:
- New Year's Day
- Easter Sunday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day*
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
SUPPORT STAFF
The College has identified December 26, 27, 30, and 31 as a non-peak period, which allows most departments to close or operate with minimal staffing. The College recognizes, however, that some departments must continue operations in order to meet campus needs. Time off during this non-peak period is to be scheduled in advance with your supervisor in accordance with the work needs of your department.
As a reminder, this non-peak period, formerly called "floating holidays," became part of your Planned Time Off (PTO) benefit. Employees who take time off during this non-peak period will use PTO to cover their absence.
ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
Administrators are entitled to one floating holiday during spring, mid-semester recess to be taken during the week beginning February 24, 2014.
SUMMER HOURS
Business Hours will be 8:00 to 4:30 beginning May 6, 2013 and end August 16, 2013.
The 2013-2014 Events and Holiday Calendar was approved by the President's Cabinet on 04/01/2013.
