TianAttending Concordia influenced my life in many positive ways.  Not only did Concordia improve my skills as a musician, but it also helped me adapt to American culture.

The size of the college is ideal for international students coming to America for the first time.  I had many opportunities to apply my studies through competitions, masterclasses, and recitals.  Yet I was still able to receive a lot of personal attention from my professors.  One of the most memorable performances was performing a piano concerto with the Concordia Orchestra for the Senior Honor’s Concert in 2005.

I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in piano performance at Rice University in Houston, Texas, and I will be working to get a Doctor of the Musical Arts degree in piano performance.  I received a full scholarship into the Shepherd School of Music at Rice.  I also was accepted for graduate programs by the Boston Conservatory of Music, Colorado University, Kansas University, and the Peabody Institute of Music.
