The Positions
Residence Life Summer Intern (1 position)
The intern works 40 hours a week, serving as the Bogstad Summer DA, Staff Training Committee Chair and on special projects as assigned. Although not a requirement, this position is a great opportunity for an individual who is interested in learning more about the field of Student Affairs. The intern is paid a salary of approximately $4000 and receives a single or reduced occupancy apartment at no cost.

Bogstad RAs/Summer Programs Student Assistants (SAs) (2 positions)
This Student Assistant position is much like the Summer Programs Student Manager position from last summer. Summer Programs Student Assistants (SAs) will be supervised by Summer Programs and will assist with conference/event set-up, participant registration, desk hours for customer service, pre- and post- conference room checks and will coordinate keys for conference/event participants.
SAs will work along with four other student staff hired by Summer Programs, but will provide Residence Life expertise and experience on the team. These two staff members will also be Bogstad RAs. This position is full-time (approximately 40 hours a week); SAs will be paid a stipend of approximately $4000 (final amount to be determined by Summer Programs) and receive a single or reduced occupancy apartment at no cost through their role as Bogstad Summer RAs. Keep in mind that this position description may change as the position responsibilities continue to be refined.

Bogstad RAs (4 positions)
A summer RA in the Bogstad Apartments provides a welcoming environment for the summer residents and conference attendees in the campus apartments. Being a summer RA is very different than being an RA during the academic year – summer RAs are able to work and/or attend summer school up to 40 hours a week. Summer RAs receive a single or reduced occupancy apartment at no cost.

Coordinators – Staff Training Committee (3 positions)
The Staff Training Committee consists of three coordinators. These include the: Administrative Coordinator, Educational Events Coordinator, and Social Events Coordinator. Coordinators are highly encouraged to also apply for a Summer RA or SA position. The summer intern will chair the Staff Training Committee, and the committee will work this spring and summer to plan Fall RA Training. The coordinator position itself is unpaid, but it is a great opportunity to gain more leadership experience in the Residence Life department.
