Important Information - Construction on Grant Center
In May of 2011, Concordia College will begin the renovation of Grant Center to become the new home of the Offutt School of Business. The construction is likely to last through the summer of 2012 and potentially into the fall of 2012. Although no construction or renovation will be taking place in the residence halls of Erickson Hall and Hallett Hall, the construction in Grant Center will impact the residents of those two buildings, and may impact residents of the college Townhouses as well. Students living in Erickson and Hallett during the 2011-2012 academic year are likely to experience noise issues associated with demolition and construction and periodic brief water and power outages. In addition, there will be periods of time when access to the west and northeast entrances to Grant Center will be limited. Access to the skyway during the construction project will be very limited. The inaccessibility of entrances is likely to affect the residents of the college Townhouses as well as Erickson and Hallett residents. The college will work diligently to limit, as much as possible, the inconvenience to the students living in these halls, but it is important for student to be aware of these issues as they are making housing choices for next year.
Summer Housing
Summer housing is available in Bogstad East and Bogstad manor for any interested Concordia students. Rent for summer housing will be $400/month for Bogstad East and $380/month for Bogstad Manor. Lease lengths are flexible - you can stay as long or as short as you would like, and we prorate your rent on a nightly basis, so you only pay for the time you are living in the apartment.
Students can begin moving into summer housing on Saturday May 7th. For those who will be staying the entire summer, the last day of summer housing is Sunday, August 15th. For students currently living on campus, you will stay in your current housing until you move over to the Bogs for summer housing. For students living on campus next fall, you will be able to move from summer housing to your fall location.
The summer housing application for summer 2011 will b available in April and assignments for summer housing will be made by the end of April.
