Get Involved in Your Hall

Living on campus is a great way to meet new people – especially with all of the exciting activities Residence Life staff plan for each of the residence halls. Dances, movies, floor outings, guest speaker events, discussion groups and seminars are just a few of the activities regularly sponsored by Residence Life staff. And they’re always looking for other great ideas, so be sure to chime in if there’s something else you’d like to do.

An even better way to make sure your voice is heard is by running for Hall Council. Each residence hall has a council made up of residents, advised by the building’s hall director. These councils choose activities and help share the ideas and concerns of everyone living in the building. Members are elected at the beginning of the year and meet weekly or biweekly, with everyone welcome to attend. One member from each Hall Council serves on a larger group, the Inter-Hall Council, which helps decide programming for all of the halls and oversees the Of the Month awards program.
