Residence Life
Hall Council
Each residence hall has a council made up of residents, advised by the building’s hall director. These councils choose activities and help share the ideas and concerns of everyone living in the building. Members are elected at the beginning of the year and meet weekly or biweekly, with everyone welcome to attend. One member from each Hall Council serves on a larger group, the Inter-Hall Council, which helps decide programming for all of the halls and oversees the Of the Month awards program.
Interested in getting involved with Hall Council? Hall Council elections take place in every residence hall at the beginning of fall semester. If you are interested in running, look for informational signs in your building, check out the Hall Council table at Cobber Expo, or contact your Hall Director.
Getting involved in Hall Council is a great way to meet new people, gain leadership experience -- and have fun! A large number of campus leaders (RAs, members of Student Government Association, Orientation Leaders, etc.) got their start as Hall Council members.
