Weather Emergencies
In case of a fire, sound the building alarm immediately. Then, if time permits, call the Moorhead emergency number, 9-911, and Office of Public Safety, 218-299-3123. While it would be helpful to close your room window, turn on the lights and lock your door when exiting, it is far more important you reach a safe place outside the building as soon as possible. The residence hall staff will manage the evacuation of the building. Please keep in mind that failure to leave during an alarm is a violation of state fire code and college policy.
If a tornado siren sounds, proceed to the lowest level of your residence hall. For many buildings, this is the basement level. Stay clear of windows or doors.
