Alcohol and Drugs
One clear expectation is that the possession, use or sale of alcohol or drugs on campus, or at college-sponsored activities off campus, is prohibited. In addition, students should be aware that any inappropriate behavior (e.g. excessive noise, vomiting, passing out, vandalism, etc.) resulting from the use of alcohol or drugs — on or off campus — may result in college disciplinary action.
Alcohol Containers
Because alcohol is not allowed on campus or at campus-sponsored events off campus, the possession of alcohol containers, packaging, bottle tops, etc., is inconsistent with the spirit of the policy and is therefore prohibited.
A Good Samaritan Exception for violations of the college’s alcohol and drug policies will be honored in situations where a student (who may also be in violation of the college’s drug/alcohol policies) comes to the aid of another student by seeking emergency professional help for the other student’s alcohol/drug use. In these situations the students involved will not be sanctioned for a violation of college policy. This exception, of course, will not be honored by students who flagrantly or repeatedly violate these policies.
