Grants

Concordia Grants are awarded based on financial need. Students must complete the FAFSA on an annual basis. Renewal is based on continued financial need, so students must complete a FAFSA annually.

Federal Pell Grants
are available to students without a prior bachelor’s degree who demonstrate exceptional financial need according to a federal eligibility formula. Students must complete the FAFSA on an annual basis. Renewal is based on continued financial need. Maximum award in 2009-10 is $5350.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) are generally awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional financial need and are eligible to receive the Federal Pell Grant. Student must complete the FAFSA on an annual basis. Renewal is based on continued financial need.

Minnesota Grants are awarded to Minnesota residents without a prior bachelor’s degree who demonstrate financial need according to a state formula. Students must be enrolled in 15 credits each semester to receive full funding. Renewal is based on continued financial need. The maximum award is approximately $9,444 during 2009-10. Students are limited to 9 semesters of college attendance.

TEACH Grant: Concordia College participates in the new TEACH Grant program which started in 2008-09. TEACH Grants are awarded to students planning to teach in certain subject areas and in low income schools.  At Concordia, students must be enrolled in or have completed Education 210 in order to be eligible (usually taken in the sophomore year).  For more information:  TEACH_Grant_procedures.doc

Academic Competitiveness Grants (ACG) are awarded to Pell Grant recipients in their first and second year who have completed an academically rigorous high school program. 

SMART grants are awarded to Pell Grant recipients in their third and fourth years, who are majoring in certain eligible programs with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
