Class Schedule Updates
March 28, 2009
Classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, April 6. College officials will monitor the situation and alert you to any changes to this plan should events warrant.
Given the extended duration of cancelled classes, the College is reviewing options for the remainder of the academic schedule. A decision will be made no later than Thursday, April 2. Continue to monitor e2, Cobweb Express and the College Web site for any flood-related developments.
All instructors have been encouraged to keep students advised about their expectations for each course. Keep in mind that many faculty are dealing with their own personal flood issues and may be unable to respond in as timely a way as they might like.
March 25, 2009
Concordia has cancelled classes for the remainder of the week.
FirstLink is asking for a massive volunteer effort over the next 24 hours, including work through the night to raise the entire dike system in Moorhead by one foot. This is needed to prepare for a revised projected river crest of 41 feet on Saturday.
Shuttles to the volunteer center at MSUM's Nemzek Hall will run continuously from the following locations beginning at 4 p.m. today and will continue as long as FirstLink and city officials say the need persists:
Olson Forum (south door)
Park Region Hall (north door)
East Complex (front door – west side)
CLASSES CANCELLED ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25
Upon further consultation and review of continuing community needs during the flood crisis, Concordia is cancelling all classes on Wednesday, March 25. Please continue to volunteer as you are able.
I am so grateful for the response of our Concordia community during this time of need. Our students, faculty and staff were among the critical first responders to assist in flood preparations this past weekend. Hundreds of you have put in countless hours day and night to help our neighbors throughout the region. Visiting several work sites and the volunteer center during the last couple of days, I was overwhelmed by the enthusiastic Cobber spirit in action everywhere I went.
