2009 Flood Information - Daily Update for April 2

April 2, 2009 Daily Update

2:55 p.m. Update: The College’s E-Mail Anti SPAM/Anti Virus device was compromised this morning due to a severe power outage and it cannot be fixed. While we can still send e-mail from Concordia, we cannot receive any e-mail from outside the College.  Our vendor has sent a replacement unit that will be received tomorrow, Friday, April 3. Additional information about the restoration timeline will be posted tomorrow.

Campus Status
The Facilities Management team has made excellent progress and is on schedule readying buildings for the campus to open on Sunday, April 5.

College Schedule
The tentative academic schedule and campus opening are now confirmed.

Sunday, April 5
Residence Halls open at 10 a.m.
Dining Service opens for lunch.
Library opens at 1 p.m.

Monday, April 6
Class schedule resumes
President Jolicoeur will speak in chapel on Monday at which time we will celebrate Concordia’s response to the flood emergency as well as the return to our campus.
Cobber Kids childcare center reopens

Note:  Unless students receive a communication from faculty to the contrary, there will be no assignments due during the first class meeting.  Students should monitor their Concordia e-mail account and/or the course web page.

Easter Break
Concordia will hold classes Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 9.  Classes will resume on Monday, April 13.  In effect, Easter Break has been reduced to Good Friday through Easter Sunday.  As always, residence halls will be open over Easter Break. 

Tuesday, April 28
There will be no study day this year.  Concordia will hold our normal schedule of classes on this day.

Finals: Wednesday April 29 to May 1
Faculty will have the option of not having a final and instead can use their meeting during finals as a final class period.  Classes will meet during their scheduled final session.

Commencement: May 3
We will be holding graduation on Sunday, May 3 as scheduled.
