Katie Carlson
Carlson has a bachelor's degree in biology from Northwestern College, St. Paul, MN. She is Life Enrichment Assistant at Waterford at Harwood Groves, a retirement community in Fargo where F/M Communiversity sponsors courses during the academic year.
Dr. Carroll Engelhardt
A native of Elkader, Iowa, Carroll Engelhardt received his B.A. (Social Studies Teaching) from the University of Northern Iowa (1963) and his Ph.D. (History) from the University of Iowa (1969). He taught history at Concordia College from 1970 until 2003. He is the author of On Firm Foundation Grounded: The First Century of Concordia College, 1891-1991 (1991) and Gateway to the Northern Plains: Railroads and the Birth of Fargo and Moorhead (2007).
Sheldon Green
Green is a senior writer and photographer in the Office of Communications and Marketing at Concordia College. He has been the editor of the Hazen (N.D.) Star weekly newspaper and North Dakota Horizons magazine and helped edit, design and photograph the five-volume North Dakota Centennial Book series. Green is a graduate of the University of North Dakota. He was a collaborator on the award-winning book “Magnificent Churches on the Prairie” and "Unwanted Bread: The Challenge of Farming and Ranching," published by the Institute for Regional Studies, NDSU.
Dr. John Helgeland
Helgeland is a professor of religious studies and history at North Dakota State University. He received his doctorate from the University of Chicago. Helgeland currently serves on the NDSU Bush Ethics Committee. He also has received the Blue Key Distinguished Educator award.
Rev. Sue Koesterman
Koesterman is the Senior Pastor at Elim Lutheran Church in Fargo. She received her B.A. in Philosophy from Minnesota State University Moorhead and her MDiv from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. She is also actively involved with Churches United for the Homeless and serves on the board of directors, Center of Interfaith Projects.
Dr. Sue Humphers-Ginther
Humphers-Ginther is a Professor of Sociology and also Coordinator of the Gerontology Program at MSUM. She received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of California and Ph.D., in Sociology from the University of California. She is also a member of the MN Board on Aging serving a second 4-year term.
Dr. Theodore Kleiman
Kleiman is a pediatrician at Innovis Health in Fargo. He has a bachelor's degree in Biology from Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH and a medical degree from New York University. He participates in numerous community committees.
Kathy Lande
Lande is Assistant Activities Director at Riverview Place, a retirement community in south Fargo, where F/M Communiversity sponsors courses during the academic year.
Bonnie Peters
Peters is Resident and Public Relations director at Riverview Place, a retirement community in south Fargo, where F/M Communiversity sponsors courses during the academic year. She is a Certified Activities Consultant in Recreation & Gerontology (NCCAP) and a Nationally Certified Aging Services Professional (CASP).
Dr. Dennis Staton
Staton has practiced and taught psychiatry in Fargo-Moorhead since 1978. He was a professor of psychiatry at University of North Dakota School of Medicine from 1978 to 1997 and has authored or co-authored nearly 50 published articles, including numerous child psychiatric studies and two publications related to healthcare economics. Dr. Staton has S.B. and S.M. degrees from MIT, a PhD from Harvard University, a medical degree from the University of Miami and residency training in internal medicine and psychiatry at the University of Vermont.
