About
Concordia’s Organ Institute offers a condensed version of Young Organists Week. The two-day event for adult organists includes a strong emphasis on new music, technique and role in churches. Led by distinguished musicians, the institute is an opportunity for organists to share ideas and skills with one another, while improving their own musical and church leadership skills. Organists take part in a hymn sing and practice sessions, piano and liturgy classes, and even have an opportunity to purchase organ music books.

The institute affirms and encourages the service of congregational organists by:
•    Introducing new organ literature
•    Demonstrating and teaching basic organ techniques
•    Creating an opportunity for organists to interact with others who serve the church in the same role

The institute is held in each summer at two locations in Montana, North Dakota or Minnesota, enabling organists from all over the region to attend.

Key Elements
•    For organists at any level of proficiency, including beginning organists
•    Presentations with special emphasis on hymn playing and repertoire
•    Workshops to fit the individual needs of organists
