About Assessment

Two key constituent groups of the assessment process at Concordia are the faculty and the administration. The following are examples of these two constituent groups:

1)Assessment Committee
  • provides oversight of the assessment of student learning and development
  • reviews and monitors curriculum assessment data
The Committee is comprised of four faculty members (one of whom is chair), one student, the director of assessment, a Student Affairs representative, and an Academic Affairs representative and meets regularly during the academic year.

2)Office of Assessment
  • supports faculty/staff via funding for grants and workshop attendance as well as other assessment activities
  • conducts campus-wide workshops on various assessment topics and seeks to connect the broader campus community into the assessment process
  • facilitates process of assessment for the core curriculum
  • provides support for program assessment as a part of the accreditation processes for individual departments

Concordia's Office of Assessment is a department of the Academic Affairs division and includes a full-time director and a half-time institutional research associate.
