GUEST FLUTE RECITAL AT CONCORDIA

 

            Guest flutist, Emily Butterfield, will present a recital at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 9 in the South Choral Room at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., Butterfield will be assisted by Debora Harris, associate professor of music on piano and flute; and Michael Coates, instructor of music, on guitar. The concert is free and open to the public.

            The program includes works by W.A. Mozart, Lowell Leibermann, Gabriel Fauré, Hector Berlioz, Charles DeLaney and Georges Bizet. Butterfield teaches applied flute, flute choir and flute methods at Muskingum College and Mount Vernon Nazarene University and is flutist with the wind quintet Favorable Winds. She has also performed with numerous orchestras, appeared at national and state conventions as a performer, lecturer and volunteer and presents master classes.

            Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering 78 majors, including 18 honors majors, and 12 preprofessional programs.
