CONCORDIA OPENS ACADEMIC YEAR

    Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., kicks off the start of the 2009-10 academic year with opening convocation at 9:20 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 3 in Memorial Auditorium. The convocation officially opens the 119th academic year.
    The program will include an address by Concordia College faculty member, Dr. Peter Schultz; a greeting by Student Government Association President, Todd Robley ’10; and the declaration of the opening of the academic year by provost and dean of the college, Dr. Mark Krejci.  The program also features Concordia College president, Pamela Jolicoeur; vice president for enrollment, Omar Correa; campus pastor, Rev. Tessa Moon Leiseth; and music by The Concordia Band, conducted by Dr. Scott A. Jones.
    Immediately following convocation, the traditional Beanie Toss will take place on Olin Hill at approximately 9:50 a.m. Classes begin at 10:30 a.m.
    Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering more than 75 majors and 12 preprofessional programs.
