Message from Bill MacDonald, Director of Security

The Fargo-Moorhead community is preparing for a potential flood event this spring. Concordia’s emergency management team continues its preparations to address any flood-related issues that might occur during the next several weeks. The team, of course, will be monitoring National Weather Service statements regarding the flood forecast. The college will also be in communication with the City of Moorhead and Clay County Emergency Management officials as events warrant.

Concordia does not anticipate any direct impact from a flood; the City of Moorhead has made significant infrastructure upgrades that will help ensure that services are sustained on campus throughout the duration of any flood event. As such, we fully anticipate that all classes and events will proceed as scheduled.

At this time, the City of Moorhead is not requesting any volunteers. The City of Fargo has begun its volunteer sandbagging operation. If you are interested in volunteering, please call FirstLink at (701) 476-4000 to learn of any current or future needs.

Official flood information from The City of Moorhead can be found on its website at http://www.ci.moorhead.mn.us/flood/.

Student safety is our top priority. In the event of any campus emergency, alerts will be sent via text message using the e2Campus system. If you have not registered for e2Campus, you are strongly encouraged to do so at http://www.ConcordiaCollege.edu/e2campus.
