Kernel Voted No. 2 Cheesiest Mascot
Mar 27, 2012
It’s official: Concordia’s own Kernel Cobb is the second cheesiest mascot in the nation.
Chester Cheetah, the iconic face of PepsiCo’s Cheetos snack, set out to rank college mascots on their “cheese factor” and all-around silliness. Mascots were analyzed unscientifically, the website admits, with the hopes of celebrating Chester Cheetah’s “quirky counterparts at universities and colleges around the country.”
The top-ranking cheesy mascot award went to the Fighting Pickle from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts – an institution, ironically, without an athletics program.
We’re proud of our beloved mascot, who was (understandably) a little put off by his second-place finish. Leave him a note of encouragement on Facebook.
