CONCORDIA PRESENTS DAY OF PERCUSSION
      The Concordia College Department of Music and Musical Organizations will present the 23rd annual Day of Percussion beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, in Memorial Auditorium. Featured guests include Zoro “The Drummer,” Christopher Norton and Keith Aleo. The day’s activities include clinics and performances and conclude with a Concordia Percussion Ensemble and Marimba Choir concert featuring the guest artists.
      Zoro “The Drummer” is both an internationally known rock star and one of the world’s most renowned and respected drummers. He has toured and recorded with Lenny Kravitz, Sean Lennon, Lisa Marie Presley and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, among others.
      Norton, professor of music and director of percussion studies at Belmont University, Nashville, Tenn., has given clinics and recitals in Europe and across the United States. In addition to composing and recording, he also conducts the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra.
      Aleo, director of education and orchestral activities at the Zildjian Company, is also a member of the percussion faculty at the Boston Conservatory, director of percussion at the Interlochen Arts Camp in Interlochen, Mich., and director of percussion at the University of Rhode Island.
      All activities and performances throughout the day are free and open to the public.
