CELEBRATE LOCAL FOODS AT THE FOURTH ANNUAL
100-MILE THANKSGIVING FARMERS MARKET AT CONCORDIA
Concordia College will host its fourth annual 100-Mile Thanksgiving Farmers Market from 3:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, in the atrium of the Knutson Campus Center. Each year more and more people celebrate a 100-Mile Thanksgiving by making their meal using only locally-produced food, that is good for you and for the environment.
The 100-Mile Thanksgiving Farmers Market will be an opportunity to fill your thanksgiving table with some of the best, healthiest food our community has to offer including a wide variety of seasonal and organically grown foods including squash, potatoes, pumpkins, honey, maple and fruit syrups, edible beans, and locally-made dips, chips and breads.
In addition to hosting 10-11 vendors, there will also be a hands-on wheat-grinding activity for children of all ages, live music provided by Concordia’s students, three student organizations involved in educating the community about the importance of eating local and chef Phil Edwards from Dining Services along with his interns will be offering samples and recipe ideas for eating local and seasonally.
