CONCORDIA THEATRE DESIGNER HOLDS ART EXHIBIT
The Concordia College art department will present the art exhibition “’Theatrophilia: Frivolities, Curiosities and Confusions’ Recent work by Eddy Barrows” opening Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the Cyrus M. Running Gallery. A public reception will be from 4-6 p.m. that evening. The exhibit runs through Sunday, Dec. 9.
The exhibition showcases assemblages, paintings and theatre work by artist, writer and Concordia College faculty member Eddy Barrows. His work explores visual storytelling and altered states that celebrate theatre as a profession, the theatre in everyday objects and the theatre in the landscape of the mind.
Native to Athens, Ohio, Barrows, formerly of Honolulu, proudly declares Fargo, N.D., his home. He is currently the senior designer and adjunct instructor for the theatre program in the communication studies and theatre art department at Concordia.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. The gallery will be closed for Thanksgiving break Nov. 22-25. For more information call the Art Department at (218) 299-4623.
The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
