TRIO AMERICANA TO PERFORM GUEST RECITAL AT CONCORDIA

      The Concordia College music department will present a Guest Faculty Recital by Trio American at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, in Christiansen Recital Hall.
      The ensemble’s members violinist Anna Draper, saxophonist Jason Laczkoski and pianist Joshua Russell, first met as graduate students at the University of Iowa and formed in the summer of 2011 to record Evan Chambers’ work “Come Down Heavy!” for Laczkoski’s debut CD on the Emeritus Label. The group is dedicated to performing works that are beautiful in sound and intelligent in form. 
      Trio Americana will perform “Come Down Heavy,” along with works by Sy Brandon, Marc Eychenne and Concordia assistant professor Russell Peterson’s “Trio for Alto Saxophone, Violin and Piano.”
    The recital is free and open to the public.
