VISITING WRITERS FESTIVAL AT CONCORDIA
Concordia College will present the Visiting Writers Festival Wednesday, Oct. 3-Friday, Oct. 5. A public reading will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Frida Nilsen Lounge, Fjelstad Hall, and a panel discussion will be at 9:20 a.m. Friday in Academy 322. Both are free and open to the public.
Each fall, the English Department invites three writers to campus to read their work, conduct master classes, participate in a student-moderated panel discussion about writing and literature, and visit classrooms. The department invites a poet, a fiction writer, and a non-fiction writer or journalist to participate.
This year’s writers are poet Katrina Vandenberg, novelist John Reimringer, instructor at Normandale Community College; and Dr. Jim Farrell, St. Olaf College professor and author of several books including his most recent one that explores college culture, consumer culture and the environment.
