FIRST-YEAR CONCORDIA STUDENTS VOLUNTEER
THROUGH HANDS FOR CHANGE
Students at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., will participate in the 19th annual Hands for Change outreach event on Monday, Aug. 27, during new student orientation week. Concordia will send hundreds of volunteers out into the Fargo-Moorhead community to participate in 37 different service projects.
Activities will begin with a send-off ceremony at 8:15 a.m. at the bell tower (rain site Memorial Auditorium). President William Craft will speak at the ceremony.
Students will arrive at various service sites at approximately 9 a.m. and work until 11:30 a.m. when they will return to campus for lunch. Throughout the afternoon, students will be engaging in conversations about their service-learning experiences. The 2012 Hands for Change coordinator Emily Seller, English professor Amy Watkin and Dr. Mark Krejci, provost and dean of the college, will speak at the closing ceremony at 3:15 p.m.
