Concordia Celebrates Inauguration of 11th President

CONCORDIA CELEBRATES INAUGURATION OF 11TH PRESIDENT

    Delegates from academic communities around the country will gather at Concordia to celebrate the inauguration of Dr. William J. Craft as the 11th president of the college. The inauguration ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in Memorial Auditorium. A reception will follow in the Atrium, Knutson Campus Center.
    Inauguration weekend events begin with a special chapel ceremony at 9:20 a.m. Friday, April 27, in the Centrum, Knutson Campus Center. At 10:45 a.m. Friday, Jacqueline Bussie will give a presentation on the “Introduction of the Forum on Faith and Life” in the Morrie Jones Conference Center, Knutson. Bussie is director of the forum and associate professor of religion.
      Saturday’s events include a seminar, “The Liberal Arts in a Global Age,” at 9:30 a.m. in Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music. Seminar guests include panelists John Churchill, secretary of Phi Beta Kappa, and Earl Lewis '78, provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs at Emory University; moderator John Ydstie '74, NPR, economics correspondent; and responders Susan O'Shaughnessy, professor of philosophy, and Linda Johnson, professor of history.
      The public is invited to attend the inaugural activities.
