Niblet Returns Home

Aug 23, 2011

nib The newest member of Concordia's Corn Feed crew, will return home on Aug. 24. Niblet, the lesser-known cousin of Kernel Cobb, has journeyed across the Midwest this summer. Highlights of his trek include the Corn Cob Water Tower in Rochester, Minn., the Bear Paw Mountains near Havre, Mont., Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minn., and Salem Sue in New Salem, N.D.

Family Weekend chair and Corn Feed crew member Jessie Obrecht '12, Havre, says that Niblet, while not able to help with manual labor tasks, has really excelled in public relations.

"Watching Niblet's journey from an unknown little cob to a Concordia superstar has been quite the experience," she says.

Niblet will yield the spotlight at the Moorhead Corn Feed to Dr. William Craft, Concordia's new president. The two superstars met at the Corn Feed in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Niblet is excited for Craft to meet the public in Moorhead.

"Niblet knows the community will benefit greatly from hearing Dr. Craft speak about his Concordia experience thus far and his future plans for the college," says Obrecht.

After the Corn Feed, Niblet plans to meet up with some family and take a brief vacation before Family Weekend and Homecoming.
