Sunshine and Song

It’s not often that Concordia’s infamous bell tower has any rivalry when it comes to outdoor music. Concordia music faculty is changing that with a series of summer concerts.

Free and open to the community, the events are informal faculty recitals that highlight an array of styles including classical and jazz.

The series gives music faculty a chance to share their talents and keep the community interested during the summer months, assistant professor Russ Peterson says.

“Outdoor concerts during the summer are just beautiful,” he says. “We like to do them and the community likes to listen. It’s a great time to just enjoy music and the beauty of campus.”

The third and final event in this summer's music series will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, on Olin Hill. The rain site is Christiansen Recital Hall in Hvidsten Hall of Music.
