Dr. Dawn Duncan in Solo Performance
Aug 23, 2010
English professor Dr. Dawn Duncan is bringing her interest in Red River Valley history to the theater. In a solo performance, she assumes the life of Clara Dillon Darrow, who fought for women's suffrage in the region more than 100 years ago.Darrow, whose parents were originally from Ireland, served as the president of the League for Women’s Voters, while her sons founded the Dakota Hospital System.
Fargo's Bonanzaville museum and the Cass County Historical Society asked Duncan to write the half-hour show. She hopes the performance will ignite interest in history and the research process.
Duncan will perform the show at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, at the Barnesville (Minn.) Public Library; 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the Rothsay (Minn.)
