PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE AND MARIMBA CHOIR
TO PERFORM ANNUAL HOLIDAY CONCERT
The Concordia College Department of Music and Music Organizations will present the annual holiday favorite Percussion Ensemble and Marimba Choir Concert, directed by Dr. David P. Eyler, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 in Memorial Auditorium.
The popular concert will feature Christmas favorites such as “Deck the Halls,” “Away in the Manger” and “Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel.” The combined ensembles will also perform a popular Swedish lullaby, “Jul, Jul, Stralande Jul,” by Swedish composer Gustav Nordqvist.
Other selections include the regional premiere of three pieces and the world premiere of “Ellipse,” composed by Concordia student Jared Hoeft for large percussion orchestra in several sections. Hoeft will graduate in 2013.
The concert is free and open to the public.
