CONCORDIA SPEECH TEAM TAKES TOP HONORS

    The Concordia Speech team took second place the first day and were named tournament champions the second day in tournaments at MSU Mankato and Gustavus Adolphus College Oct. 15 and 16. Only six Concordia team members competed against 16 schools from across the region. Alex MacArthur ’12, Marshall, Minn., was named individual sweepstakes champion for both tournaments.
     On the first day of competition, Alex MacArthur took first in Prose, second in Drama, third in Poetry, and sixth in Informative Speaking. On the second day, MacArthur took first in Program Oral Interpretation, first in Poetry, first in Drama, second in Prose, and third in Informative Speaking.
     Andrew Eilola ’12, Eveleth, Minn., took third in Duo with partner George Kueppers ’15 (Spicer, Minn.), as well as second in Prose, and fourth in Impromptu. Additionally, Eilola was named fifth overall speaker. The second day Eilola took first in Duo with Kueppers, and second place in Prose.
 Britt Aasmundstad ’13, Devils Lake, N.D., took third in Extemporaneous Speaking and sixth in Communication Analysis. She took fifth in Extemporaneous Speaking the second day, and Christiana Hennings ’15, Arlington, S.D., took fifth in Drama. Also contributing to team points was Alex Elizárraga ’15 (Albany, Ore.).
