CONCORDIA TO PRESENT HOMECOMING CONCERT

    Concordia College Music Organizations presents the 2011 Homecoming Concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, in Memorial Auditorium.
      Beginning the concert will be The Concordia Band, Dr. Scott A. Jones, conductor. This portion of the concert will include “In Memoriam” by Johan Halvorsen, which will be dedicated to the memory of Gordon O. Gilbertson ’37, who was the final living member of the 1935 Concordia Band that toured Norway. Next, The Concordia Orchestra, Foster Beyers, conductor; will perform selections including two of the Elgar “Enigma Variations.” The concert will conclude with The Concordia Choir, Dr. René Clausen, conductor; performing a variety of pieces and ending with the traditional “Beautiful Savior”.
      The concert is free and open to the public.
