POLITICAL COMMENTATORS CARVILLE AND MATALIN
TO SPEAK AT CONCORDIA
Mary Matalin and her husband, James Carville, will speak at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in the Centrum, Knutson Campus Center. Carville is one of America’s best-known political consultants. Matalin is a conservative voice and political contributor for CNN. The couple gives audiences an enlightening and entertaining look at important political issues as well as a behind-the-scenes look at Washington politics.
The conversation will be moderated by talk-show host Scott Hennen.
Carville, a frequent political commentator and contributor for CNN, has a long list of electoral successes including his most prominent victory in 1992 when he helped William Jefferson Clinton win the presidency. Carville is a best-selling author, actor, producer, talk-show host, speaker, restaurateur and co-founder of Democracy Corps, an independent, nonprofit polling organization dedicated to making government more responsive to the American people.
Matalin formerly served as assistant to President George W. Bush and counselor to Vice President Dick Cheney, and was the first White House official to hold that double title. She is an author, editor-in-chief of Threshold Editions, co-hosts a nationally syndicated radio program and serves on several boards. Active in politics since college, she also held senior positions in the George H.W. Bush campaigns and emerged as the vocal defender of the president and his policies.
The event is held in partnership with the student government association and the students of Concordia College. Admission is free and open to the public.
