FACULTY MEMBER AND STAFF MEMBER RECEIVE AWARDS AT CONCORDIA
Dr. Susan Cordes-Green, chair and assistant professor of psychology, was awarded the Flaat Distinguished Teaching Award and Scott Ellingson was presented the Flaat Distinguished Service Award.
Cordes-Green, a member of the psychology department faculty since 1989, is a teacher, mentor and scholar who exemplifies the scholar-teacher model at Concordia. A challenging teacher, Cordes-Green makes psychology accessible and exciting to students and spends hours with students outside of class. She extends her role as a psychology teacher into her research program, engaging students in projects as co-inquirers who go on to present and publish research.

Ellingson, a reliable and authoritative presence, is widely considered an expert in the ever-changing admissions field. He is known for his work ethic, dedication to the college and for the generous amount of personal contact he provides prospective students, parents and alumni .
The Flaat awards were endowed by Ole and Lucy Flaat, lifelong farmers in the Red River Valley.
