CONCORDIA STUDENTS TO TAKE PART IN DAY AT THE CAPITOL
Students from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., will participate in Day at the Capitol Thursday, March 10. They will meet with representatives and advocate for the Minnesota State Grant program, which provides financial aid to more than 84,000 Minnesota college students, and currently has a $42 million projected deficit this biennium.
The trip to the capitol, sponsored by the Student Government Association, will include transportation, lunch and informational/training sessions presented by the Minnesota Private College Council. Students from 16 colleges/universities will attend one of five dates for Day at the Capitol beginning Feb. 23 and ending April 7.
Thousands of students could lose their grants or see the value of them shrink and students, faculty, administrators and parents are all encouraged to attend one of the sessions to encourage legislators to consider options that will soften the impact on students.
