CONCORDIA PRESENTS FACULTY RECITAL

 

            Concordia College music instructor Barbara Schramm, mezzosoprano, will present a faculty recital “Moonlight Serenade – An Evening of Chamber Music” at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14 in Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.

Works by Respighi with string quartet, Louis Spohr with clarinet and piano, and a seldom performed piece by Paul Hindemith for voice, flute, clarinet, and string quartet will be performed. In addition, Schramm will perform a “Moonlight Medley” including the jazz standards of Glenn Miller, Rogers and Hart, and Bart Howard.

Joining her on this concert are Concordia music faculty members Jane Linde Capistran, Joanne Cohen, Daniel Breedon, Greg Hamilton, Deborah Harris and Leigh Wakefield. The “Moonlight Medley” combo includes David Ferreira, David Eyler and Jason Aylward.

This is the second recital Schramm has presented at Concordia College.

She returned to Moorhead three years ago, after living in Germany for 20 years working as an opera and concert performer.
            The recital is free and open to the public.
