Oen Fellowship Lecture on Body Image

OEN FELLOWSHIP LECTURE ON BODY IMAGE
Dr. Michelle Lelwica, associate professor of religion at Concordia College, will present the Oen Fellowship Lecture, “The Religion of Thinness: Examining and Challenging a Cultural Devotion,” at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4 in the Centrum, Knutson Campus Center.
Lelwica published the book “The Religion of Thinness” that addresses Americans’ distorted view of the body as well as eating disorders. She has also worked with counselors at the Eating Disorder Clinic in Fargo.
The lecture, supported by the Oen Fellowship Scholar Fund and coordinated by the Concordia College Department of Religion, is free and the public is invited to attend.
