RECENT PAINTINGS BY DAVID BOGGS ON EXHIBIT

Concordia College’s art exhibition “Atmospherica: Recent Paintings by David Boggs” opens Friday, Oct. 29 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 21 in the Cyrus M. Running Gallery. A reception will be held in the gallery from 4:30-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29 with a Gallery Talk at 5 p.m.
Boggs describes his recent work as “oil paintings executed with watercolor technique.” Using this approach, he builds paintings in transparent layers that coalesce to convey the ephemeral atmospheric effects of light in the air. The paintings may be classified as landscapes, but the scenes are largely conjunctions of sky, land and water depicted at numerous times of day and various conditions. Boggs’ work has been exhibited in numerous national and international exhibitions.
The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information contact the Art Department at (218) 299-4623.
