FIRST-YEAR CONCORDIA STUDENTS VOLUNTEER
THROUGH HANDS FOR CHANGE

Students at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., will participate in the 17th annual Hands for Change outreach event on Monday, Aug. 30, during new student orientation week. Concordia will send hundreds of volunteers out into the Fargo-Moorhead community to participate in 39 different service projects.
Activities will begin with a send-off ceremony at 8:15 a.m. at the bell tower (rain site Memorial Auditorium). Dr. Paul Dovre, interim president, will speak at the ceremony.
Students will arrive at various service sites at approximately 9 a.m. and work until 11:30 when they will return to campus for lunch. At that time they will discuss their service-learning experiences. The 2010 Hands for Change coordinators Philip Comella and Brooke Degerman; Jackie Grosz, the Orientation chair and Dr. Mark Krejci, provost and dean of the college, will speak at the closing ceremony at 1:45 p.m.
