CONCORDIA STUDENTS TRAVEL ABROAD
More than 140 Concordia College students are studying abroad this spring and summer. Eight May Seminars offered this spring have 83 students visiting approximately 18 countries, another 19 students will be participating in Summer Field Studies in Africa and the Middle East, and 38 students will be in the Summer Abroad Program in China, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Students participating in May Terms Abroad will visit much of Europe including a trek to the Land of the Midnight sun, the arctic circle; a trip to Transylvania, the home of Dracula legend; and the buried cities of ancient Greece. One of the seminars, “Travel Writing: Around the World in 25 Days,” will travel from New Zealand to Australia, from Hong Kong to India, from Egypt to England and home again.
The seminars are designed to enhance learning; some include an on-campus course and an off-campus travel seminar led by Concordia faculty. The courses contain background information necessary to understand and appreciate the travel experience of various countries and academic disciplines.
Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering 78 majors, including 18 honors majors, and 12 preprofessional programs.
