CONCORDIA EMPLOYEE RECEIVES AWARD
Karla Hornstein, office manager for the mathematics and computer science and physics departments, received the Ole and Lucy Flaat Distinguished Service Award at the annual Spring Support Staff Appreciation Dinner April 6.
Since 1992 Hornstein has handled the administrative support duties for an average of 17 full-time faculty members in two departments and has worked with hundreds of students, campus visitors, candidates for department positions and faculty over the years. She is a valued assistant who stays current with ever-changing technology and has demonstrated dedication and professionalism to her job.
The Ole and Lucy Flaat Distinguished Service Award recognizes excellence in long-term service to the college by a member of the support staff. The recipient must be both outstanding in their professional role and a person who is committed to the mission and goals of Concordia.
Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering 78 majors, including 18 honors majors, and 12 preprofessional programs.
