THREE CHOIRS CONCERT AT CONCORDIA
The music department at Concordia College will present the Three Choirs Concert at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 28 in Memorial Auditorium on the Moorhead, Minn., campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
Cantabile, a choir of first-year female students, and Männerchor, a choir of first-year male students, are both conducted by Michael Smith. Smith has a background of 40 years in conducting choral music at Aitkin, Brainerd and Willmar high schools and Brainerd Community College.
Bel Canto, a choral ensemble of approximately 55 upperclass women, is conducted by Nicki Bakko Toliver. Toliver, an accomplished choral conductor and educator, teaches music appreciation and applied voice and assists with undergraduate conducting courses.
The choirs will perform a wide variety of music from traditional Norwegian Folk Songs to An Indian Raga and traditional Irish and spiritual music.
Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering 78 majors, including 18 honors majors, and 12 preprofessional programs.
