COBBER SYMPHONIC BAND TO PERFORM
MUSIC OF JAPANESE COMPOSERS

The Cobber Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. Nathaniel H. Dickey, will perform the seventh annual “Composers Concert” at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16 in Buxton-Hanson Rehearsal Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.

This year’s program will feature the music of Japanese composers Yo Goto, Satoshi Yagisawa, and Soichi Konagaya. Works include Goto’s “Lux Aeterna,” Yagisawa’s “Hymn to the Infinite Sky” and Konagaya’s “Star Puzzle March.”

Founded by Dickey and the Cobber Band in 2004, the composers concert series annually features recent music for wind band chosen around a theme. Past concert themes include “Minnesota composers,” “Canadian composers,” “New England composers,” “Music of Spain and Latin America,” and “Music of Israel and the Middle East.”
