CONCORDIA CELEBRATES MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY

    The Concordia College Student Government Association announces the schedule of activities celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, Jan. 18. The Concordia community will address societal issues and cultural awareness by examining King’s legacy and its effect on the world today.

Schedule of Events:

8:30 a.m.        Women’s  Studies: “The Content of their Character” 
9:50 a.m.        Chapel with Karis Thompson ’02
10:45 a.m.      Brent Scarpo: “Living like Mama D: Lessons in Leadership and Community Service”
12:15 p.m.      Non-violence video in the Maize
1:20 p.m.        Dr. Mark Covey: Cognitive Aspect of Prejudice
2:40 p.m.        Dr. Richard Green: Looking at Concordia during the civil right’s movement
7 p.m.             Brent Scarpo: “Journey to a Hate-Free Millennium”

*All sessions will be held in the Centrum, Knutson Campus Center, unless otherwise indicated.

    Students are also planning Martin Luther King Jr. Day service project serving at the YWCA, YMCA, New Sudanese Community Association, and Rape and Abuse Crisis Center.
