TRUMPET LECTURE RECITAL AT CONCORDIA

    The Concordia College Music department will host a lecture recital presented by Dr. Peter Knudsvig, associate professor of trumpet titled “The Trumpet in Love & War” at 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 17 in Christansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music. Knudsvig will be accompanied by Denise Pesola, piano.
    The lecture/recital will take a brief look at the trumpet and the various roles it has played throughout music history. It is free and open to the public.
    Knudsvig joined the faculty of Concordia in 2007 following a 25-year tenure as co-principal Trumpet of the Hofer Symphoniker in Hof, Germany and continues as First Trumpet of Rekkenze Brass, an internationally renowned brass quintet based in Germany. Knudsvig was raised in Williston, N.D., and earned his bachelor of music from Concordia and his master and doctorate of music from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.
