CONCORDIA FACULTY RELEASES NEW CD WITH RECITAL
Russell Peterson, assistant professor of music at Concordia College, will perform a faculty saxophone recital in conjunction with the release of his latest CD at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15 in Christiansen Recital Hall. The recital is free and open to the public. The CD, “Russ Peterson and Friends: Jazz/Rock Saxophone,” features 20 different musicians from the Midwest and will be available for purchase at the recital for $10.
The program will feature saxophone chamber music by composers Larry Bell, Kirk O’Rioridan, Evan Chambers and Russell Peterson. Concordia faculty joining Peterson for the recital will be Jay Hershberger, piano; Debra Harris, flute; Greg Hamilton, cello; Leigh Wakefield, clarinet; Jane Linde Capistran, violin; David P. Eyler, percussion; and Scott A. Jones, conductor.
Peterson’s CD features music by Peterson, Dave Hanson, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Dizzy Gillespie and Hoagy Carmichael.
