Homecoming King and Queen Crowned
Seniors Marly Simmons and Sara Sorbo have been elected by the student body at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., to reign as 2009 Homecoming King and Queen during Homecoming Week, Oct. 13-18.
King Marly and Queen Sara were crowned at the coronation ceremony Oct. 13. They will reign over a week of activities focusing on the theme “Ignite the Tradition.” Simmons is the son of Martin and Julie Simmons, Detroit Lakes, Minn.., and Sorbo is the daughter of Allen and Judy Sorbo, Adams, N.D.
Other members of the royal court, all from the class of 2010, are: Andrew Bettenhausen, son of Thomas and Ruth Bettenhausen, Bismarck, N.D.; Michael Brookens, son of J. Robert and Anita Brookens, Marion, Kan.; Sean Volk, son of Larry and Rebecca Volk, Valley City, N.D.; Joshua Ydstie, son of Jonathan and Carol Ydstie, Milbank, S.D.; Val Carter, daughter of Roger and Shirley Carter, Watertown, S.D.; Leah Kay, daughter of Craig and Barb Kay, Dassel, Minn.; Maggie Olson, daughter of Thomas Olson, Fargo, and Jane Olson, Fargo, N.D.; and Sarah Siegle, daughter of Timothy and Marcia Siegle, Cavalier, N.D.
Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering 78 majors, including 18 honors majors, and 12 preprofessional programs.
