DANE EDUCATORS VISIT CONCORDIA IN EDUCATION EXCHANGE
The Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., education department is hosting six educators from Denmark. The group arrived Oct. 2 and will be visiting several local schools to learn more about education in the region. They will specifically be hearing from educators about their work with immigrant refugee students.
The visit was brought about by an education department May Seminar to Odense, Denmark, in 2007. The Concordia students visited the Humlehaveskolen school, as well as with the school’s principal, Olav Nielsen. The following year, the Concordia education department invited Nielson to speak at Concordia about education in Denmark and visit local public schools. This fall, Nielson and five of his colleagues are back in the region learning more about the educational system here.
The group is visiting until Oct. 14 and has several engagements throughout the region and at Concordia. Please call Amy Kelly at (218) 299-3642 for more information.
