PERCUSSION CLINIC AT CONCORDIA FEATURES MICHAEL BURRITT
Concordia College Department of Music and Musical Organizations in cooperation with the Lake Region Arts Council, Percussive Arts Society and Zildjian Cymbals will present Michael Burritt in a Percussion Clinic at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3 in Hanson Rehearsal Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.
Burritt is an active composer and has three solo recordings of his original compositions as well as works written for him. He has been a featured artist at seven Percussive Arts Society International Conventions and has performed at Carnegie Hall and performed his London debut at Queen Elizabeth Hall. His works for solo marimba have become standard repertoire for the instrument and are frequently required repertoire at international competitions. Burritt, endorsed by Malletech and Zildijain Cymbals, is an artist/clinician and product design consultant for Malletech and an artist/educational clinician with Zildijian.
Burritt is currently professor of percussion and head of the percussion department at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y. He received his bachelor and master of music degrees from Eastman.
